Katie & Jake’s wedding at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church by New York Hill in Mingus, TX & was such a beautiful chapel! The chapel is just so pretty, with lots of character, and it brought in so much beautiful light – I loved it! It was right by New York Hill, which had some beautiful steps and greenery we took tons of pictures on ad around.
Katie & Jake are such a sweet couple and met during high school when Katie was a Freshman and Jake was a Senior. Jake proposed by taking Katie to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. They had a small intimate wedding at the white chapel down the hill with only close family members. The chapel was so pretty with gorgeously lighting throughout the entire event. Jake had several heirlooms to document. His grandfathers watch, which was a gift to his grandfather from his grandmother, and his grandfathers handgun. He carried a 1911 gun that was passed down from his grandfather from his time in service and is beautifully engraved.
Katie actually handmade the boutonnieres from some weeds and dyed them blue to match her wedding colors. How creative and talented! Dinner was served by New York Hill Restaurant in Mengus, TX and it was SO good. They are known for their chicken fried steak, and I must say, it is amazing.
We had an engagement session with them a couple months ago, you can view those here. We had so much fun!
AHH, I can’t say enough about this lovely wedding and these two – I’ve had the honor of knowing Katie since she was a little girl in AWANA at church. I’ve taken her senior pictures several years back, now her engagements and wedding! I truly love watching & documenting life’s milestones like these.
